- What is the Hokkaido Expressway Pass (HEP)?
- The HEP is an add-on for the ETC card. It is a All-You-Can-Eat highway toll program only availible for foreigners. If you are planning on using the highway a lot then the HEP will definitely be your best bet!
- Can every car use the HEP?

Only cars classified as an “Odrinary Passenger Car” can use the HEP.
The “K cars”, “Hiace Van”, and buisness vehicles can not use the HEP. - How do I purchase the HEP?

The HEP can be purchased while you are here picking up the car in person.
When you are booking the car, please make sure to check the ETC card option. If you did not check the ETC card you can still choose to rent it when you are picking up the car. - Can I buy the HEP with a specific date?
- No, the HEP has to be purchased with the whole rental period.
